Global Manager, Talent Management | Underwriters Laboratories (UL)
"My vision for Chicago is that equity is paramount in healthcare, mental health, housing and education. That under-served communities are afforded equitable opportunities to reach their greatest potential, that we live as a collective society where our collective goals and interconnectedness play a role in realizing economic empowerment and environmental sustainability. I will work to advance this by eradicating mindsets and systems put in place and in turn leverage institutions and organizations to ensure we all activate our role in advancing Chicago's potential.”
Undergraduate Degree: Spellman College, '06
Fun fact: I have two amazing sons Jackson (6) and Hampton (5) who we've named after historical African American figures (Marcus 'Mosiah' Garvey, Fred Hampton).
Katrina Jackson has over 10 years’ experience working with global markets across various industries including Coca Cola, Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Bank, Newedge Financial, TTX Rail and currently Underwriters Laboratory (UL). With extensive background in managing organizational strategy in private and public sectors nationally and globally she has demonstrated success in M&A integration, change management, cultural immersion, talent management, diversity and inclusion and co-authored an internally produced book “Leading Through Transition.”
Katrina has worked as an expat and served on a number of boards, including Roseland Community Hospital, The Glass Slipper Project, Rush University Medical Center and is the Founder/CEO of iShero a non-profit organization focusing on a holistic perspective of building and sustaining a strong pipeline of women leaders. As a proud product of Lansing, Michigan and resident of Chicago’s south side, both cities have shaped her drive to impact those around her and commitment to empower individuals and corporations to actualize their greatest potential. Katrina hails from the illustrious legacy of Spelman College where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Economics with minor in Management & Organization. She also holds a Master of Arts degree from The Chicago School in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
Katrina is also launching a boutique wellness and fitness center for pre-post natal mothers: BellaBump LLC seeks to educate expecting and new mothers in maintaining fitness, wellness and mindfulness in care of their bodies, babies and bumps.
Aside from her love for travel, or curating fine events for family and friends, when she’s not doing any of these things, you can find her with her two very active sons Jackson and Hampton.
