Ashley K. Ritter
Director of People
Ashley brings over ten years of people development experience across a variety of industries including nonprofit, higher education and healthcare. In her roles she has been responsible for strategic leadership training, recruiting, coaching, change management, career development, conflict management, employee relations and system workflows. Most recently she worked in human resources at Swedish Covenant Hospital where she coached managers on hiring best practices, implemented a new applicant tracking system while also facilitating all new employee orientation efforts. She also served as the interim director and assistant director of the Career Development and Internship Office at North Park University. She has worked in several other capacities including with an international humanitarian aid organization where she oversaw recruitment efforts for all European and U.S. teams. Her passion for youth access to education and opportunity began when she lived on the West Side of Chicago and worked for several community development and scholarship programs.
Ashley holds a Master of Organizational Leadership and certificates in human resources and conflict management from North Park University. She also attended Taylor University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a focus on cross-cultural communication. During her time at Taylor, she taught English in Lithuania and Costa Rica and studied post-soviet culture as a primary focus.
Her advice to students while in college is to give yourself time to adjust. Your identity, culture and story are a lot to process all at once! So lean into the challenging moments and find a community of people who can support you as you grow.
