Senior Associate of College Access
Jay Myung is a member of the Chicago Scholars Dream Team as Senior Associate of College Access. His primary objective is to guide students through the "Launch" College Access Tier of the Chicago Scholars program. In this role, he supports Chicago Scholars' high need, first generation students during their senior year of high school. Working in coordination with Chicago Scholars' adult mentors, college counselors, and college partners, he assists high school seniors through the college selection and application process.
Jay’s goal is to help all students broaden their college possibilities and apply to colleges that are the best match and fit for them. If you have any questions about college access, Jay is the team member to turn to. Jay is driven by the personal relationships he establishes with our Chicago Scholars as they enter our program. He also challenges students not to only rise above their expectations, but to always dream big for their future.
Jay earned his undergraduate degree in Communications Studies from Loyola University Chicago. He commuted to and from campus while working at Northwest Community Hospital. During his employment, he managed daily schedules for three physicians, registered payments for visits and procedures, and maintained a multitude of administrative duties. His experience easily transferred into Chicago Scholars’ fast paced, high demand culture.
After graduation, Jay joined Chicago Scholars as a member of the “Launch” team. His advice to Chicago Scholars in college is keep an open mind and devote time to fulfilling your curiosity.
