The Medicina Scholars program was established in 2005 to assist, guide and support Latino college students interested in the medical profession. The program introduces students to the field of medicine by enhancing their knowledge on the role of health care professionals and the clinical aspects of medicine. The three-year curriculum gives Latino undergraduate students a strong basis to succeed and become competitive applicants for admissions to medical school. Students partake in a series of professional development/medical seminars geared towards expanding their familiarity with the health field.
