Vice President of Development
Milton Rodriguez joins Chicago Scholars with over fifteen years of resource development and nonprofit management experience focused primarily on funding youth development and educational programs. Serving most recently as the Director of Development for High Jump, an academic enrichment program for middle grade students, he has a proven record of accomplishment defined by the development of impactful funding relationships, yielding increased investment and driving organizational growth and capacity development. Milton has extensive experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategies that maximize resources by leveraging both private and public sector support.
A native of Chicago and graduate of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, he brings firsthand experience and knowledge of the challenges faced by many Chicago Scholars participants and their families, and strives to increase the educational opportunities available for Chicago’s youth. Milton holds a BA and MSW from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and an MBA from Roosevelt University and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
Milton currently serves on the Board of Directors the University of Michigan Club of Greater Chicago, the Latino Giving Circle - a donor advised fund of the Chicago Community Trust, and the J-Def Peace Project.
