Selected ThinkChicago participants will:

  • Tour some of Chicago’s most innovative companiesMeet with key industry leaders; participate in talks and presentations featuring Chicago technologists and entrepreneurs.
  • Attend Lollapalooza 2023 Music Festival, plus a walkthrough of the artist production areas.
  • Resumes of all selected participants will be shared with our official company partners for their recruitment efforts.
  • Connect with student entrepreneurs and innovators from across the country.
Join us this August for an exciting event to engage with local tech community leaders, explore local companies who are hiring, and network with fellow participants.

UX, Web and Graphic Design Intern

Skills/Experience:
● Website Builder Experience, Web Design and Creation, Illustration, Graphic design,
Animation, and a well organized Figma File.
● Proficient in HTML, CSS, WordPress, Wix, Shopify, and SquareSpace.
● Must have an understanding of technical limitations as well as business strategies and
goals, backed by a knowledge of different technologies.
● Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
● Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Flexible Housing Pool Intern

Qualifications:
• Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an
interest and aptitude to work with vulnerable populations;
• Basic understanding (or willingness to learn) of FHP’s core service philosophies of Housing
First, Harm Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care;
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
• Flexible schedule — may require working off-days to reach FHP participants;
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated;
• Ability to work in a team setting;
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications;
• Experience volunteering with nonprofit organizations desired;
• Able to commit to a minimum of three months for this internship.

Peace & Justice Center Support Intern

Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Support the Peace and Justice Center’s administrative needs
  • Assist with planning and implementation of PJC activities
  • Assist with documentation, grant reporting, and other logistical needs
  • Create innovative outreach and youth engagement strategies
  • Support recruitment and enrollment for training, activities, and  programs
  • Assist in building relationships with community partners such as local schools, community organizations, community members, and social service agencies
  • Assist in the facilitation of restorative justice training for youth
  • Contribute to the physical and conceptual development of the Peace and Justice Center as a dynamic space for youth-led social change
  • Participate in additional PJC events and activities as needed
  • Other relevant responsibilities as needed
Requirements

 

  • At least one year of experience working in justice or community-based settings, as well as trained and knowledgeable in Restorative Justice; also have a strong community engagement focus
  • Experience working in youth programming preferred
  • Experience working with youth required
  • An interest in creating administrative systems for new initiatives
  • Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 12:30-8:30 pm. Some mornings may be necessary based on events and need
