NEW SCHOLAR Orientation: HELP Welcome THE CLASS OF 2028!

New Scholar Orientation (NSO) is the official welcome to the new class of 2028 Chicago Scholars. During this in-person day-long event, Scholars will participate in community building activities, meet their counselors, and mentors, and begin their Chicago Scholars journey. This is your opportunity to meet our amazing new class and to see our program in action!

Time Commitment: 3 or 6 hour time slots, which includes training, plus time to review materials ahead of your service date

Location: This is an in-person event at Loyola University’s Lakeshore Campus, 1032 W. Sheridan Rd., Chicago, IL 60660

*NOTE: If you are registering as a group, please register each individual so we can communicate with all volunteers and provide the information you’ll need in advance of your interview shift. Please revisit this page as additional times and locations become available.

For all volunteer assignments labeled “Spanish,” we are asking for individuals that are comfortable and confident speaking with students and family members in their first language of Spanish. If you are unable to converse comfortably with others in Spanish, we will switch you to another shift.
