Adoption and Support Counselor (CareerSpring)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree, or at least 2 years of experience working in an administrative or professional capacity
  • At least 1-year experience working with cats and kittens in a shelter, rescue, or veterinary practice environment (volunteer experience is acceptable)
  • Computer skills required: Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and basic office equipment. Familiarity with shelter management software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cat behavior is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage and resolve conflicts in a professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and interact with a wide range of personalities and work styles, both individually and within groups of diverse constituents
  • Excellent customer service skills, patient and professional
  • Ability to convey information accurately to the public
  • Creative forward thinker with a focus on problem-solving
