A’briya Colone graduated from Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep Academy this spring where she took a rigorous courseload of honors and AP classes. She was an avid participant in Step team, G.A.S. Bible Study Club, and After School Matters Genesys Works. Outside of school, she has worked with Helping Hands and had a grading partnership maintaining the greenhouse at Lindblom Academy. A’briya dreams of studying business and running her own non-profit to help educate people on financial literacy. She believes that helping people learn to manage their money is critical for those in low-income communities to achieve financial stability. A’briya starts college this fall and plans to study personal finance and business at the University of Missouri – Columbia.
